The Hot Days of Summer are Here Again
CCS is in full swing as warmer weather and longer days return, which is good for business and for employees. As work picks up, we encourage everyone to be aware of their surroundings, practice safe work habits, and stay hydrated.
Projects in Progress
Lyndon, Vt. – Progress continues to move forward on two bridges in Lyndon on the Red Village Road…..Bridge #13 and Bridge #17. Work in progress seems to be moving nicely as indicated in the photos to the left.
Stowe, Vt. – CCS continues to work with Stowe as the town upgrades its bridges in various locations around town. CCS in now working on bridges located on the North Hollow Road and Stowe Town Bridge #52. Progress seems to be moving forward well and are looking to have these projects completed this fall .
Wolcott, Vt. – In the photos to the left, we see the crew hard at work installing the foundation abutments for the bridge. This project required subsidized funding from VTrans along with funds from the Town of Wolcott.
One more project to mention would be in Hardwick as crews tackle the challenges Mother Nature leaves behind when it comes to repairs and the building of bridges as seen in the images on the left.
Proposed Projects
CCS continues to submit bids on additional work as they come to their attention. The majority of these projects are located within the Vermont but also includes the New England Region.
Happy 250th America
Fun Fact: The only revolutionary battle fought in the then “Vermont Republic” was at the “Battle of Hubbardton”. Though the Patriot force of 1,500 men lost to the British, this rear-guard action allowed the main Continental Army to regroup which in turn allowed the American forces to defeat the British at the “Battle of Saratoga”. This was a deciding battle as it influenced France to join the Patriots and defeat the British at the “Battle of Yorktown”.
