Bridges

CCS constructs steel truss bridges which include both in-segments and complete truss-in-place. Additionally, CCS has rehabilitated numerous historic covered bridges in Vermont and New Hampshire. These projects entail replacement of truss sections, floor, roof, siding, and abutments.

Rebuilding a Piece of Wolcott’s History

The new School Street Bridge in Wolcott, Vermont is taking shape, and it’s designed to honor the span it replaced. The original steel truss bridge carried traffic over the Lamoille River for nearly a century before it was decommissioned in 2018 due to safety concerns. Now, CCS Constructors is leading the rebuild, blending the old New England charm of the original structure with modern construction standards built to last another hundred years.

Work began in December 2025 and is on track to wrap up in November 2026. When complete, the new bridge will reconnect Route 15 to School Street, restoring the direct route that generations of Wolcott residents have relied on to reach the town offices, library, and trailheads on the other side of the river.
